Going back to school during these uncertain times can be a little scary for our kids and our teachers. There are so many new rules and protocols to follow and just the thought of it can be a little overwhelming. Our team has put together a little list to help you get back into the swing of school while also taking precautions for your children.

  1. Properly wearing a mask: Make sure your children know the importance of wearing their mask, when to wear it, and the proper way to wear it. We’re all trying to get used to wearing a mask more than we ever have and it can be hard to keep on and feel uncomfortable. Make sure you’re also following your school’s specific protocols of mask wearing.
  2. Hygiene: Hand washing has always been important, but now more than ever! Encourage your kids to wash hands before leaving and entering a building, between classes, before and after eating, and whenever else deemed necessary. It also never hurts to send them off with hand sanitizer when there is not enough time for a hand washing break.
  3. Socializing: Our children have been restricted from time with friends and now being back with them can be very exciting. Make sure you have open conversation with your kiddos about still keeping distance, not sharing too many items, or if so, washing their hands as much as possible.
  4. Get TESTED: Watch for irregular symptoms in your child and don’t be afraid to get them tested. With all the new ways to test too, you don’t have to worry about your kid(s) being uncomfortable with a nasal swab. Provisions Health also offers a blood draw and a saliva test that is coming soon!
