It’s that time of year again. . .the time of stomach aches and sugar meltdowns. Yep, it’s almost Halloween. Lots of tricks and EVEN MORE TREATS!

From neighborhood gatherings to school parties, kids are collecting countless amounts of candy. DO NOT EAT IT ALL! If your house is like many, dealing with leftover candy is a real challenge. Here are 5 creative ways to handle all that sugar:

  1. Donate it. Send it to U.S. soldiers or give it to the PTA.
  2. Bake with it. Holidays are coming, and there are TONS of delicious recipes that include candy.
  3. Sell it. Many dentists and doctor’s offices will buy excess candy from you. Ask your favorite MD or DDS if they have a program like this.
  4. Gift it. Find a decorative jar or box and get a jump on holiday gifting. Everyone loves candy!
  5. Trade it. Come up with a candy trade-in program at your house. Trade in pieces of candy for $ or a small (educational) toy.

Whatever you decide to do with your leftover Halloween candy, have FUN with it! Save yourself the tummy ache and do something GOOD with your goodies!
